Chapter 10 Breakwater Collection represents a departure from the traditional approach of product development at Jeffrey Court. For Breakwater we reached out to the Interior Design community to the well-respected Southern California-based designer Katerina Tana whom had recently launched her own textile collection, Katerina Tana Collection LOOM. She has now developed the stunning Breakwater Collection for us and it represents her passions: the ocean, fine linen, and crisp, clean design that will stand the test of time.
Chapter 10 Breakwater Collection has many unique features. The most striking of these is the Belgian linen texture, which is actually pressed into the wet clay prior to firing. Great care is taken by Jeffrey Court artisans at our California factory to ensure that the linen effect is authentic.
The fields are offered in three sizes - a 3" x 9" bar tile, a 3" x 3" tile, and a wonderful 4.5" hexagon. Also included are hand assembled ceramic mosaics which also feature the true linen texture. All fields, mosaics, and trims are offered in six stunning and vibrant colors, and are available in both gloss and matte finishes.
The popularity of the linen texture feature is closely followed by the beautiful coral motif decorative tiles. Each decorative tile is hand pressed and available in a 3" x 3" and 4.5" hexagon. These decoratives are available in all six colors in both gloss and matte finishes.
Unique to Jeffrey Court are the "high-fire" 3" x 3" decorative tiles available in an additional six stunning color combinations. The "high fire" process imparts a special "two color" dimension to these decorative tiles, which compliment the field colors and shapes perfectly.
As with all Jeffrey Court Chapters, Breakwater Collection includes a matching 1" x 9" rail and 2" x 9" crown, along with a 3.75" x 9" base moulding piece - something entirely new for Jeffrey Court.
Chapter 10 Breakwater is for interior wall use. Kitchen & Bath walls, backsplashes, Fireplace surrounds, or any other interior wall space were typical wall tiles are used. The field tiles are NOT recommended for floors.
We developed 12 "mini" montage boards to display the six colors and two finishes offered in Chapter 10. We also created two all-new storyboards and a "designer board" which displays all the shapes and colors available in one small portable board. There are also two essence cards, which feature the unique "high fire" decorative tiles. All these point of purchase materials are augmented by the 12-page Chapter 10 Breakwater Collection catalog. Showroom installation and loose pieces can also be ordered at a sample discount.
Chapter 10 Breakwater Collection reflects the shade variations associated with hand-made tile. As with all Jeffrey Court hand made tiles, we strongly recommend laying out and blending the tiles prior to installation. This step will ensure a proper color blend in order to achieve a classic look for your installation.
See the Jeffrey Court website at jeffreycourt.com, or Breakwater's own site at breakwatercollection.com to gain inspiration on the design possibilities offered with Chapter 10 Breakwater Collection. You will see traditional designs such as "offset" and "herringbone" patterns to modern twists like a vertical stack pattern - even a few ideas on blending in the decorative tiles to create something totally new. The possibilities are infinite with Chapter 10 Breakwater Collection.
