CHAPTER 10  •  Casual Elements

Why did you name Chapter 10 - Casual Elements?

The six satin-matte colors in Chapter 10 features a 6" x 6" field tile with several shapes or "elements" that allow for numerous design possibilities. The satin-matte color palette is contemporary, yet casual, fitting nicely in up-market wall residential and hospitality environments.

What are the key features of Chapter 10 Casual Elements?

  • The vast array of shapes and sizes of rectangles, squares, rhomboids, triangles, pickets, liners, ogees, glazed mouldings, and trims are all elements that make Chapter 10 so versatile and fun to design with.
  • Lastly, Chapter 10 features stone matrix mouldings in six desirable styles to add that extra pop to any chapter 10 design.
  • The colors we have chosen work beautifully with many natural stones which include slate, quartzite, limestone, travertine and granite. See the catalog for several ideas on use.

Where can this collection be used?

Chapter 10 Casual Elements can be used on any interior wall or counter to include kitchens, bathrooms and tub surrounds, hearth surrounds, wainscot walls in residences and office spaces. The field tiles are NOT recommended for floors.

Are there any special design or installation tips for this chapter?

Casual Elements has surface bullnose, bead, counter trim and cornice trim to allow for versatile installations. Also, all glazed and stone-matrix pieces come with stops and most stops also work for turning outside 90-degree corners.

We produce Chapter 10 Casual Elements to reflect the shade variations associated with handmade tile. As with all Jeffrey Court handmade tiles, we strongly recommend laying out and blending the tiles prior to installation. This step will ensure a proper color blend in order to achieve a classic look for your installation.

Stone matrix mouldings can be used in showers but not in a direct water path of the spray. Clean these pieces only with a mild soap & water solution.

Masking off the stone matrix mouldings before grouting is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED as sanded grouts can affect the finish if not protected during grouting. Also, this makes the final installation cleanup much easier.

Any other information you can tell me about chapter 10?

We recommend cleaning all spills immediately as matte-finished tiles can etch. This is especially the case with red wine and fruit juices.
