CHAPTER 12  •  Campagna

Why did you name Chapter 12 Campagna?

In Italian, the basic meaning of Campagna conjures up images of the old world or old country. The look and feel of Campagna with its rich and wide rustic coloration brings "aged" beauty to a new dimension. In a Tuscan farm house or a Florentine home behind elegant wrought iron gates, Campagna can now be for city and country homes here in America where rich, rustic beauty is desired.

What are the key features of Chapter 12 Campagna?

  • The dedicated Jeffrey Court craftsmen incorporate several steps in the manufacturing of Chapter 12 Campagna that are truly unique. One of those steps is to tumble the tile prior to color and glaze application. This step gives each tile its own unique rustic edge.
  • We use a very time and labor intensive two-step glaze process that gives each tile a depth and color variation that creates a very "up market" look.
  • The Campagna chapter contains some very unique glass décor pieces to provide an accent to any installation. These can be used in the tiles with pane openings or as accents spotted throughout the installation.
  • The mouldings with their exquisite designs and colors provide an exceptional accent to any Chapter 12 installation.

Where can this collection be used?

Chapter 12 Campagna is for interior wall/counter use. It is also suitable for kitchen/bath walls and backsplashes, or any other interior wall space where typical wall tiles are used. The field tiles are NOT recommended for floors.

Please note that we do NOT recommend the crackle finish tiles be used on horizontal food serving or preparation applications, such as kitchen counters. However they can be used on powder room counters.

Are there any special design or installation tips for chapter 12 Campagna?

Campagna has surface bullnose, bead, and cornice trim to allow for versatile installations.

We produce Chapter 12 Campagna to reflect the shade variations associated with handmade tile. As with all Jeffrey Court handmade tiles, we strongly recommend laying out and blending the tiles prior to installation. This step will ensure a proper color blend in order to achieve a classic look for your installation.

We recommend sealing crackle glazed tiles prior to and after installation with a high quality penetrating sealer.

The crackle glaze nuance brings an old world charm to each installation. In wet areas, water can penetrate through these minute cracks that will accentuate the antiquing. This nuance is something to be embraced, as ALL CRACKLE glazes have this antiquing.
