What makes Chapter 15 Classic Statuario a unique offering in the Jeffrey Court collection of chapters?
Chapter 15 is all about the beauty of white Statuary marble. As the name implies, Classic Statuario marble is a timeless medium to work with for field tiles, mosaics, decorative, and architectural mouldings. The stone features a bright white palette with medium to dark veins crossing the surface to create a beautiful effect perfect for classic or contemporary installations.
What are the key features of Chapter 15 Classic Statuario?
Chapter 15 underwent a “ground up” redesign including the fields, mosaics, decoratives and mouldings. The goal was to simplify the collection while still offering ample choices and selections necessary to execute the perfect classic or contemporary design. Included in Chapter 15 Classic Statuario are six field tiles (18×18, 6×18, 8×12, 3×12, 6×6, and 4×6) with an amazing brushed finish. The brushing process softens the hard stone edges and subtly opens the veins to create a finish that simulates centuries of natural wear. Also included are nine mosaics with a wonderful smooth honed finish. The mosaics are monochromatic so as not to distract from the beautiful white base color and grey veining Mother Nature created. No matter the design theme, an array of beautiful mosaic shapes
including sticks, hexagons, octagons, squares, and bricks are sure to not only please but also
impress. Our incredibly talented designer developed three wonderful water-jet liners using Statuario
marble as a medium. The liners are offered in a combination of honed and polished finishes to
add a timeless “touch of class” to any installation. To add a dimension of color and interest, Jeffrey Court sourced very unique and beautiful decorative tiles aptly named “Drawn Stone”. At the intersection of art and high-tech, Drawn Stone is an offering of six gorgeous patterns executed on the white Statuario marble. The images impart a three-dimensional effect thanks to the use of digital imagery, which is hand transferred onto the stone by skilled artisans. The stone is then sealed to ensure a combination of beauty and lasting durability. Finally, architectural mouldings provide the finishing touch to any Chapter 15 Classic Statuario installation. Offered are a crown, two dome profiles, and a new piece for Jeffrey Court – a very clean and versatile base moulding.
Where can this collection be used?
Chapter 15 Classic Statuario can be installed throughout the home interior. Areas include floors, kitchen and bath walls including backsplashes and tub surrounds, feature walls, and fireplace mantel surrounds. The stone is NOT recommended for exterior floor or wall use
Are there any special design or installation tips for Chapter 15 Classic Statuario?
All white marbles require a few extra installation procedures that are standard in the industry. We recommend that you lay out the tiles to create the desired blend of natural white and grey hues inherent in the Statuario marble. It is recommended that a high-quality white thinset be used to install the stone. Grey thin set can “bleed through” and darken the white color of the stone. It is imperative that a high-quality “natural look” penetrating sealer be used prior to grouting and followed with another application after grouting to prevent staining. An ongoing maintenance program is essential for all natural stone installations. Once sealed, the Drawn Stone decorative tiles are appropriate for all residential interior floor and wall installations including wet areas.
